For a spectacular time in Iceland, visitors are encouraged to experience Reykjavik in the Midnight Sun. This is a natural phenomenon where the sun remains visible at the city’s local midnight hour, mainly from 11:30 pm to 12:30 am. In addition, with clear weather, people can even view the sun for a straight 24 hours.

To make viewing the Midnight Sun easier for everyone, there are tours from Reykjavik towards the island called Grímsey on the Arctic Circle, where its magic can be fully felt and experienced. Guests should, however, take not and always remember to register in one of these tours at the earliest possible time as these trips normally become fully booked immediately. The best times to come to Reykjavik to behold this natural wonder are during late autumn and early spring. The Midnight Sun becomes more difficult to view as the seasons move farther towards sunless days. Furthermore, while viewing this spectacle, guests can also enjoy themselves to Reykjavik’s popular night life in its bars and pubs. Nothing beats having a drink or two while witnessing one of Reykjavik’s stunning natural displays. Most locales recommend a dinner under the midnight sun to be one of the most remarkable treats which guests could give to themselves while in the city. Lastly, other events held by locales while the Midnight Sun is shining are various tournaments where residents of the city and foreign guests may participate.
