Videy Island is located on the Kollafjord Bay and is the largest island in the said body of water. This stunning island is divided into three parts: the West Island, the Home Island, and the East Island. This is a place of breath-taking beauty and of rich history, which through the years has welcomed an increasing number of visitors from within and around Iceland.

The hilly landscape and unique topography of Videy Island resulted from volcanic activity and natural forces such as glacier abrasion, wind, and water. Some of the lava formations can still clearly be seen in specific parts of the area. Apart from viewing its spectacular geological wonders, guests can also marvel at the vast amount of plant life and wide array of land creatures and bird species in the island. Famous structures in the island include the Videyjarstofa house, in which a restaurant has been established. This building has the distinction of being the first house in Iceland to be built from cement and stone. Moving on, there is also a church in the island which is the second oldest one in Iceland. For people who would like to hike all the corners of the Island, there are two hiking paths that start behind the restaurant. Ferry services for going to the island are offered all year round, and during summer, horse rental services and horseback riding lessons is available in the area.
